In 2024, the Lord began speaking to Pastor James privately in his prayer time. Since then there have been public prophetic confirmations of his role as a key pastoral figure, a unifier and bridge builder in this region. A beautiful public culmination of this all occurred at Ark & Altar Church's official launch celebration and pastoral ordination service. Our Trajectory
Since October of 2024 the founding families of Ark & Altar Church have been faithfully gathering in the Wheeler home in Beachwood, New Jersey.
During that time the Lord has blessed them with His sweet and often powerful presence during times of worship and prophetic release in that small living room.
The presence of God has been faithfully hosted and the Word of God has been faithfully proclaimed.
The vision to release a presence driven, multigenerational, regional transforming work has been consistently stewarded and demonstrated in the lives of the faithful founders.
The church is seeing many new followers of Christ being birthed in a Tuesday night women's discipleship group. With the many visitors that have come through the living room, all share of experiencing the presence of God and the anointing of the Holy Spirit that is being released through this local church.
With vibrant financial support in place by the founding families including some online church members, we have been able to move towards fulfilling the next step in the Lord's timing for Ark & Altar Church to step into a season of gathering in a public space that is more suited for growth and effective ministry to the region of Berkeley Township, New Jersey in the city of Bayville.

East New Jersey was proclaimed to be founded firmly upon religious freedom under the grace and blessing of Almighty God. It is vital for churches and congregations to flourish again with these same ideals in this region.
Ark and Altar Church under the leadership of Pastor James Wheeler is committed to standing firmly in these ideals while loving and serving the surrounding community.

We find ourselves facing mounting legal and administrative fees as we navigate the use variance appeal process with our township.
